If you are about to begin your digital or online exam and you find that your mouse, keyboard, webcam, or other peripheral item isn't working, run through the following troubleshooting questions:

  1. Have you been able to use the item previously? If it has previously been working fine, try unplugging and then replugging it into your computer.
  2. If it is a wireless device, check the batteries are working. Do you have any spare batteries on hand?
  3. Try turning your device off and back on to see if this helps.

If, after trying these steps, the equipment is still not working, is it possible for you to borrow a replacement from your family, friends, or flatmates for the duration of your exam?

If you are still unable to use your computer properly or access a replacement, please contact AskOtago to discuss your options:
