After you have installed the Examplify application:
- On a Windows laptop/desktop computer, the Examplify icon will appear on your desktop. If it doesn't, click the Windows button at the bottom left of your screen and search for Examplify
- On a Mac laptop/desktop computer, go to the top left of your screen next to the Apple logo and click Go > Applications, and find the Examplify application. Do not move the application to your desktop or the software may not open properly. Once you open the application and it appears in your dock, you can right-click the icon and select Options > Keep in Dock
When you installed Examplify, you logged in using your University of Otago email address and password. Once you have supplied these during installation, Examplify will recognise you and won't ask for them again.
Open Examplify by double-clicking the Examplify icon on the desktop or dock, or find it in your Apps list or folder:
Once Examplify is open, you may be asked to select your account if you have multiple accounts (generally you will only have one):
You will then see the Examplify home page/dashboard where you can download and start exams.

I select the Institution ID but it doesn’t open a browser
When prompted for the Institution ID, you have selected University of Otago (otago) and clicked Next:
But the application doesn’t open a browser and redirect you to the University of Otago’s sign-in page and instead leaves you in the Examplify login page like this one:
This usually means there is a problem redirecting. Please make sure your internet connection is working and try again. If it still doesn't work, please contact AskOtago:

Trouble logging in on a Mac device
The Examplify application uses your default browser when you try to log in. If you are using a Mac device, this will be Safari.
If you have managed to install the Examplify application but you are unable to log in, you will need to change the default browser to Google Chrome. Note that you can change your default browser back to Safari after you have logged in as you will only need to log in to Examplify the one time.
To change the default browser on a Mac:
- Check if the Google Chrome browser is installed. If not, install Google Chrome.
- Click on the Apple icon menu in the top right-hand corner and then click on System Preferences...
- Click on the General tab.
- Next to Default web browser, click on the drop-down menu and choose Google Chrome to set as the default.
- Reopen Examplify and try once more to log in.
