Codes used in eVision for research stages, and their description:
Research Not Started. Student has submitted an application and selected they wish to complete the programme as Papers Only, or Papers & Thesis where the thesis has not yet started.
Department entering research details. Status whilst proposal is at the Department for assessment.
Proposal approval. Status whilst the Department’s recommendation is being approved.
Approved pending thesis start date. Status from approval of the recommendation, through the time when the student is made the programme offer, the student accepts offer, the papers are added and the student declares with a thesis start date.
Cancelled. Application cancelled, student has never enrolled and declared.
Programme and / or Proposal Declined. Programme rejected, or if student has requested just the research component be assessed as a Masters student doing papers in their first year and the proposal assessment is rejected.
Doctoral Provisional 1 / 2 / Extension. Provisional doctoral student status—during this time there are 6 monthly reviews. These stages end when the student submits their thesis for examination.
Doctoral Confirmed 1 to 10. Confirmed doctoral student status—during this time there are yearly reviews. These stages end when the student submits their thesis for examination.
Report Masters 1 / Follow-up. Masters or hons student status—during this time there are one or two progress report reviews. These stages end when the student submits their thesis for examination.
NOE started or thesis submitted waiting for NOE. Student on reporting period and Nomination of Examiners (NOE) has been started, or student has submitted but NOE has not yet been approved.
Examination. Student under examination.
Examination—Resubmit. Examination period covering revise and resubmit examination, including re nomination of revise and resubmit examiners.
Result Confirmed. Research result has been approved in the system and the research lifecycle has been completed. This does not mean all the enrolment and award processes have been completed.
Temporary Withdrawal. Student applied and was accepted for temporary withdrawal. During this time the student does not pay the monthly thesis enrolment fee and will have no access to resources.
Permanent Withdrawal. Student applied and was accepted for permanent withdrawal.
Administrative Withdrawal. Where a student has lapsed and has been not been contactable for a period of time this status is set by Student Administration.
