The National Poisons Centre (which began operation in 1964) is New Zealand's only poisons information centre. It operates 24/7, 365 days a year. The service provides free phone support and advice to callers (both members of the public and healthcare professionals), concerned about exposures to substances including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, plants, occupational and environmental toxins, and biological hazards. The NPC can advise on what to do in situations of poisoning or where poisoning might occur.

To contact the National Poisons Centre, phone 0800 POISON / 0800 764 766
