Restrictions on the number of times a student may attempt to pass a paper came into effect from 2018. A student may attempt to pass a given paper no more than three times.

A student who has failed a paper three times will not be able to re-enrol in that paper. In exceptional circumstances, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the division responsible for the paper may approve further enrolment in the paper.
