The Otago University Childcare Association (OUCA) runs five childcare centres on the University of Otago's Dunedin campus. It is financially supported by the University to provide education and childcare for staff and students' children from birth to 5 years.

Four of the centres are located at 551 Castle Street North:

  • Te Pārekereke o Te Kī - a bilingual centre for children aged 0-5 years
  • Te Maioha - for children under 2 years
  • Te Uru and Te Puna - for children over 2 years

College Centre - Rōpu Tiaki Tamaiti (for children aged 0-5 years) is based at the UO College of Education at 137 Union Street East.

The centres are open all year, closing only for public holidays, but opening hours vary between each centre.

Morning tea, a cooked lunch, and afternoon tea are provided in all centres. 20 hours ECE childcare, up to a maximum of six hours per day, is available for all 3- and 4-year-olds.

Places are limited and a waiting register operates for all centres. Because of the long waiting time for children under 2 years, it is recommended that parents send in an application form at the beginning of their pregnancy. Email ouca.office@otago.ac.nz or phone +64 3 471 4410 for a form or further information.
