Summer School | 11 January to 19 February (end of lectures) |
Standard courses for Semester 1, Semester 2, and full year |
|
Students continuing a thesis |
StudyLink payments stop at the end dates given above, even though thesis students enrolled for a single semester have until 30 June or 23 December to submit their thesis. A student enrolled in a thesis for one semester only has a course period set at 20 weeks as this is the maximum full-time course length for a 0.5 EFT enrolment. Students may contact student.finance@otago.ac.nz for possible options if they come to the end of the 20-week course period advised to StudyLink and are still engaged in their thesis research and will not be updating their enrolment from semester 1 to full-year. |
Students commencing a thesis | Students commencing their thesis in the current academic year can advise their personal thesis start date (rather than the standard course start date) to StudyLink. |
Students re-commencing a thesis | Students who are returning after a temporary withdrawal/deferral of thesis must still advise StudyLink of the applicable standard course dates for the Verification of Study (VoS) process plus also inform StudyLink of the period they have postponed their study. |
Courses with non-standard dates |
Information for papers with non-standard dates can be found on the individual paper pages. If the student has already selected papers, the course dates for each of the papers will be displayed in the student's Course Fee Assessment. A student's overall enrolment period is now recorded on the academic record. EXCH000 dates (outbound exchange paper) show as the standard semester dates until updated manually by the Student Finance team on the advice of the Student Exchange team. The updated dates will reflect the period of the student's overseas university enrolment period. Once entered by Student Finance the enrolment period in the Course Fee Assessment and Academic record will update. |
