As a student attending the University of Otago, you are expected to perform at a satisfactory academic level. The Academic Progress Policy sets out a process for students who are not achieving satisfactorily.
Its purpose is to:
- Provide a benchmark for student academic achievement
- Identify students who are not achieving satisfactorily and provide specifically targeted advice and support to help improve their performance
- Maintain the high quality of Otago qualifications
- Information about the Academic Progress Policy including definitions of terms

The Policy does not apply to professional undergraduate programmes in the Division of Health Sciences because the regulations for these programmes contain their own exclusion clauses.
