If you are about to begin your digital or online exam and you find that your mouse, keyboard, webcam, or other peripheral item isn't working, run through the following troubleshooting questions:

  • Have you been able to use the item previously? If it has previously been working fine, try unplugging and then replugging it into your computer
  • If it is a wireless device, check the batteries are working. Do you have any spare batteries on hand?
  • Try turning your device off and back on to see if this helps
  • If, after trying these steps, the equipment is still not working, is it possible for you to borrow a replacement from your family, friends, or flatmates for the duration of your exam?
