Microsoft Teams is a collaborative personal workspace that includes videoconferencing and instant messaging communication.
A Team contains one or more channels (usually to organise different work areas or projects), and each channel can have chat, file storage and other applications, such as Planner. Channels can have different access levels, and members are added by the channel ‘owner’.
Chat can be enabled in a Team or channel, for 1:1 or group chat. Files can be stored in each channel, and items opened, edited and shared.
You can access Teams online via the main Microsoft 365 (formerly known as Office 365) website and sign in using your University of Otago staff email address and password:
