If a student on conditional enrolment fails more than half their points across the full year of conditional enrolment they will be suspended from the University for a period of two years.
A review of the suspension decision is possible and details on this process are provided to students in their eVision alerts.
Students suspended under the Academic Progress Policy will be regarded as Recommencing Students if they register to return to study at the University of Otago after their suspension period.
Recommencing students are required to go through the Preferential/Competitive entry admission pathways applicable at that time. Re-admission is not guaranteed and is likely to require objective evidence that the ability to study successfully has improved. This normally requires successful study at NZQA level 5 or above.
