After your email has been migrated to Office 365 as part of the Office 365 rollout to staff, you will need to remove your email account from your mobile phone and add it again. If you leave your original email account on your phone, it will continuously prompt you to enter your username and password. Instructions for both Mail and Outlook are included below.

The only mail apps supported on iOS are iOS Mail and Microsoft Outlook. Microsoft Outlook is the only supported Android app.

iOS Mail

Removing your old email account:

  1. Open Settings and tap on Passwords & Accounts.
  2. Select the email account you want to remove.
  3. Tap Delete Account.
  4. To confirm, tap Delete Account or Delete from My iPhone.

Adding your new account:

  1. Open Settings and go to Passwords & Accounts > Add Account.
  2. Select Exchange.
  3. Enter your email address (firstname.lastname@otago.ac.nz), add a description (e.g. Otago Staffmail), and tap Sign in.
  4. Enter the password associated with your email account, then tap Sign in or Next.
  5. The Mail app may request certain permissions. Tap Accept.
  6. Choose the services you want to sync (e.g. Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, and/or Notes) with your iOS device and tap Save.

iOS Outlook

Removing your old account:

  1. Open the Outlook app.
  2. Tap the "hamburger" menu icon hamburger menu icon , then the cog cog settings icon at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap on the account you want to delete.
  4. Select Remove Account then From Device.

Adding your new account:

  1. It's recommended that you download the most recent version of the Outlook app from the Apple Store first.
  2. Open the Outlook app and tap Get Started.
  3. Enter your @otago email address.
  4. The app will display an "Office 365 Logon" page with your email address already entered in one of the fields. In the Password field, type your normal University of Otago password and tap Sign In.
  5. When prompted to add another account, tap Skip.
  6. The app will display some pages of information to help you get started before it takes you to your inbox.

Android Outlook

Removing your old account:

  1. Open the Outlook app.
  2. Tap the "hamburger" menu icon hamburger menu icon , then the cog cog settings icon at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap on the account you want to delete.

Adding your new account:
