Tuakiri enables students, academics, alumni, and researchers to get secure and reliable access to their computing resources and collaboration environments using the credentials given to them by their home organisation. An authorisation process administered by the computing resource owner or administrator grants them permission to the resource.

The Tuakiri NZ Access Federation is the group of organisations who share a set of agreed policies and rules for access to online resources. The federation’s policies and rules enable members to use their home credentials to connect to remote sites without releasing unnecessary private information.

Tuakiri is administered by REANNZ (Research and Education Advanced Network New Zealand Ltd).
