To be considered for any of the postgraduate programmes in physiotherapy at Otago you must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a recognised bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy or Physical Therapy
  • Have two years' post-qualification clinical experience
  • Maintained a B grade average in your undergraduate study (65%)

Once approved by the School of Physiotherapy to undertake postgraduate study, you will need to gain registration with special purpose scope of practice for postgraduate students with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand. Information about applying for temporary registration is available from the Physiotherapy Board's website:

Prior to travelling to New Zealand, you will need to provide written confirmation of having gained this. You will be unable to commence your study without it.
