If you're a University of Otago staff member or student, you won't be able to access the UO_Guest network using your University staff or student credentials because UO_Guest accounts use a different authentication system. You can access the University network via UO_WIFI which is now available on all campuses.

Your UO_Guest account will expire exactly 31 days after it was created, or seven days of no use. Your internet access will stop as soon as the account expiry time is reached. If you still need access, create a new account by clicking on the Don’t have an account? link on the UO_Guest login page.

If you use MacOS 10.9.2 with the inbuilt Safari browser, you may find that when you attempt to access the UO_Guest service, your browser will time out without connecting. This is a known issue with the following workarounds:

  • Upgrade your operating system to 10.9.5 or later
  • Change your default browser to either Chrome or Firefox
