Staff visiting Otago
If you are visiting Otago and have been provided with a University of Otago username you can connect to the University network with your Otago username and password.
If you are only visiting for a short period of time and are not going to be provided with a username you may be able to connect to the internet using eduroam.
Your home institution may not allow you access to eduroam from another location. Please contact the IT services at your home institution to find out more about this.
If you should have access to eduroam, but the eduroam option does not appear in your wireless connections, first check that:
- There are other wireless networks available (there could be a local network problem).
- Your mobile device is in range for the University of Otago wireless network. eduroam is available at all locations covered by the University of Otago wireless network.
If both of these are correct, please contact AskOtago so they can investigate the issue further:
eduroam is subject to the University of Otago’s Internet Usage Policy, which limits or denies access to certain websites. Please see the related answer for more information:
Your home institution can also control which websites you are allowed to visit when using eduroam at the University of Otago. Please contact the IT services at your home institution if you have any questions about this.
