If visitors are being asked for a password before they can read your Otago Blogs posts, your site may be set up with restricted access (private). You can change your privacy settings and make your site public by clicking on Reading under the Settings link in the Site Administration menu.

If you prefer to keep access to your Otago Blog restricted, you can add people's usernames to your access list by:

  1. Clicking on Add User under the Users link in the Site Administration menu
  2. Entering the person's username into the Username box
  3. Eelecting the access level you want that person to have from the drop-down list
  4. Clicking on Add Users again.

If you want to allow access to your restricted blog to people not based at the University of Otago, they will need to be set up with external usernames. To find out more about creating an external username, contact AskOtago:
