Most mobile devices capable of wireless networking can be set up to use the University of Otago wireless network. Your decision on whether or not to use the University wireless network or the Vodafone network will be based on the type of wireless networking available in the area where you want to use the phone:

  • If the UO_WIFI network is available, you don't need to register your device with ITS and you can just log in using your University username and password
  • If UO_WIFI is not available and you need to use the UO-STAFF or UO-EXTERNAL network, you will first need to register your Ethernet/MAC address and other details

View the mobile device charges document to get details of all current Vodafone rates, dataplans and call charges for University of Otago staff mobile phones and devices. You will need to log in with your staff username and password to access this information.
