Most mobile devices capable of wireless networking can be set up to use the University of Otago wireless network. The decision on whether or not to use the University wireless network or the Vodafone network will be based on what sort of wireless networking is available in the area where you want to use the phone:
- If the UO_WIFI network is available, you don't need to register your device with ITS, you can just log in using your staff username and password.
- If UO_WIFI is not available and you need to use the UO-STAFF or UO-EXTERNAL network you will first need to register your MAC address and other details.
