If a website is being blocked by the University of Otago's Internet Usage Policy and you believe it shouldn't be, contact the ITS Service Desk by calling 64 3 479 8888 or 0800 479 888 or email its.servicedesk@otago.ac.nz with the following information:

  • The blocked URL of the website (e.g. http://www.otago.ac.nz)
  • What is it currently classified as (this information will be on the Internet Traffic Management warning notice you get when you try to access the page)
  • What you think it should be classified as (see the Internet Usage Policy for a list of classifications).

The site classification will be reviewed, which can take up to 24 hours. If urgent access is required, please advise the ITS Service Desk of the reason for urgency and the timeframe required, and temporary access may be granted if appropriate.
