When you sign up for a University of Otago Syncplicity Sync & Share account, you will be assigned into a User Security Policy Group based on the sensitivity of the data you will be storing.

To make this decision you will be asked three questions about the data you are going to synchronise and share with Syncplicity. Your answers to these questions define the Syncplicity User Security Policy Group you are added into.

Your User Security Policy Group in turn controls a number of security-related options within the Syncplicity client software. These security options are designed to provide the appropriate level of protection for the type of data that you have indicated you wish to store in Syncplicity Sync & Share.
