Check the Syncplicity website for the latest versions of the Syncplicity software available for your device/s.

To check and/or update the version of the Syncplicity software on your desktop computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone follow the instructions below for each device with Syncplicity installed.

Once the software has updated on your desktop computer, Syncplicity will do a full self-check of all files it has synchronised. This can take up to 30 minutes.

Windows 7, 8, and 10

Check the version installed:

  1. Right-click on the Syncplicity icon in your system tray and choose Settings from the popup menu
  2. Select Support

The version number is shown in the bottom right corner. If it doesn't match the recommended version shown on the Syncplicity website update the software:

  1. If you are using a laptop or tablet, make sure you are connected to mains power and check that you have an internet connection
  2. Right-click on the Syncplicity icon in your system tray
  3. Choose Browse to My Syncplicity from the popup menu. This will open the web browser and take you to the Otago Syncplicity website
  4. Click on the install link located towards the top right of the window
  5. Click Download Syncplicity. Save the installer if you're prompted to do this
  6. Run the installer and follow any instructions on screen.

Once the installer has completed, you may need to wait about 30 minutes while Syncplicity's self-check completes.

Mac OS X

Check the version installed:

  1. Click on the Syncplicity icon in your menu bar (normally at the top of your screen)
  2. Choose About Syncplicity from the menu options

The version number is shown at the top of the window. If it doesn't match the recommended version shown on the Syncplicity website update the software:

  1. If you are using a laptop or tablet, make sure you are connected to mains power and check that you have a connection to the internet.
  2. Click on the Syncplicity icon in your menu bar
  3. Choose Browse to My Syncplicity from the dropdown menu. This will open the web browser and take you to the Otago Syncplicity website
  4. Click on the install link located towards the top right of the window
  5. Click on the Download Syncplicity Single Sign-on Edition link. Save the Syncplicity SSO.dmg installer file if you are prompted to do this
  6. Run the installer and follow any instructions on screen

Once the installer has completed, you may need to wait about 30 minutes while Syncplicity's self-check completes.

iOS (iPhone or iPad)

The latest release of the Syncplicity client software will be installed unless you have set your device not to auto-update.

  1. To check the software version you are running, open the Syncplicity application (swipe to the right from the main activity, favourites, files, shared links screen)
  2. Press on the cog icon in the top left-hand side of the screen
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the next screen to check the Version text there.

If you are running an older version, exit Syncplicity and go to your Updates in the App Store. Search for Syncplicity in the list displayed and choose Update.

Android

The latest release of the Syncplicity client software will be installed unless you have set your device not to auto-update.

  1. To check the software version you are running on your Android device, open Settings and choose Apps
  2. Scroll until you find Syncplicity and select that to open the App Info detail screen. The version will appear at the top of the screen.
