The Higher Education Development Centre (HEDC) Student Workshop Programme are interactive, informal sessions designed to help undergraduate and postgraduate students discover new techniques and skills to support their study:
HEDC Student Learning Development holds a collection of books and videos on study skills and personal development, and a quiet space in which to peruse them. Individual appointments can be made for students to discuss any study-related concerns or receive some practical guidance in, for example, getting started on an assignment, improving time management, or practising a presentation.
The Unistart programme is designed particularly for students who are not coming to university directly from school, who are attending university for the first time, or who have not studied for some years.
Other assistance includes online study resources and peer learning and support programmes including PASS (Peer Assisted Study Sessions) and PAN (Peer Assisted Numeracy).
