The University Union offers food, retail, and hospitality services on and around the University of Otago campus.

  • Plaza Café, Forsyth Bar Stadium - open seven days and offering a full cooked-to-order breakfast, coffee, a selection of freshly-made baked items, and cold drinks, with a children's play area and space to relax.

  • Hunter Café, Hunter Building opposite the Dental School - offering ORB 101 coffee and freshly-made foods, plus a selection of cold drinks.

  • St David Café, ground floor, St David Lecture Theatre Complex - a wide range of freshly-made baked items, as well as sushi, pies, and savoury items. A range of hot and cold beverages are on offer, including Atomic coffee.

  • Café Albany, ground floor of the ISB Link - open seven days during the semester, Café Albany provides coffee, freshly made muffins, scones, cakes, and slices as well as packaged cold drinks.

  • Te Mātiti, ground Floor, Otago Business School - a great range of food and coffee, cold drinks, and juices.

  • Frankly Sandwiches - custom-made individually-tailored sandwichs, wraps, and salads.

  • Union Grill, Union Food Court - an extensive cook-to-order menu featuring classic breakfasts, homemade hamburgers and hot dogs. The Grill also offers a range of old-fashioned milkshakes made to order, cold beverages, fairtrade coffee, and other hot beverages till 3.30pm.

  • The Lab, ground floor, Centre for Innovation - L'affare coffee and baked goods supplied by Dunedin's own local boutique bakery, The Tart Tin. Hot soup is available from 11.00am with a range of cold drinks including made-to-order smoothies.

  • Food Court - Wasabi - a wide range of sushi and nigiri made fresh every day and other Japanese dishes including miso soup and rice balls. Open from 10.30am to 3.00pm during the semester.

  • Union Bar (formerly Refuel) - live music, DJ, and other activities in a warm, friendly environment. Fully licensed to 3.00am.

  • Campus Shop, west entrance, ISB Link - a wide range of bread products, baked goods, convenience foods, phone cards, confectionery, and beverages.

  • Archway Shop, ground floor, ISB Link - a wide range of stationery supplies, greeting cards, and gift wrap, and is open Monday to Friday during the University year.

  • Marsh Study Centre, north end of Castle Street - a warm, comfortable, and quiet study space with University wireless, study rooms, outside seating, and social space, with a cafe providing fairtrade Bruno Rossi espresso coffee, a selection of cabinet food, snacks, and cold beverages as well as a range of stationery products.
