Your major subject may give you the necessary skills and/or academic qualifications for a specific field or alternatively, it will give you knowledge and a range of transferable skills which you can then take into a career field of choice.
To work out what appeals to you, you could research where graduates with your major have gone (the department will often have very useful information on their website). Think about your interests and the kind of work you would like to do (e.g. do you want to do research or work with people?).
The Career Development Centre website has a number of resources to help you with this or you could make an appointment to talk to one of our career advisers by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 03 479 8243.
